This is an iconic statement amongst Churches. One that is often used to separate the congregation from people of other paths. I’ve never understood that as I feel Yeshua taught tolerance and love.

Now I don’t knock the Churches for translating anything in the manner in which they do. Free choice is afforded to everyone and dogma is an important tool for spiritual development. I just value mysticism and inner transformation above all so we approach the Cosmic Unity at the source of all things from opposite ends of the same pole.

Let’s start by defining these bullet points:

I AM- ego eimi (greek)- that sense of self which has Christ within it, is the way, the truth, and life.

This is definitely contemplating the wisdom of the ancient mystery schools prevalent at the time of Christ. We are triune beings emanating from the cosmic mind of God. So it’s only natural that Yeshua would start by describing our triune nature is intertwined with God as Spirit moves through all things.

Way- A) a method, style, or manner of doing something. B) a road, track, path, or street for traveling along.

Christ led by example. He showed humankind how to live in line with Divine Law by following his prescribed path.

Truth- A) the quality or state of being true. B) that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality.

“Love your enemies. Bless those who curse you.” The truth is we are all interconnected and it is only by living in love that we can achieve lasting peace and harmony. Not just for ourselves, but for all of the people we come in contact with.

Life- A) the existence of an individual human being or animal. B) vitality, vigor, or energy.

There is a Divine life force within us all. It is the source of creation. When we walk the prescribed path and value others as much as we value ourselves we are tuning into that Divine nature and can feel the Life force flowing through us. That is Ru’ahh (the Holy Spirit) moving within.

We come to our understanding of Cosmic Unity by taking up our cross and following Christ’s example. Our ego minds are an illusion. When we feed our egos we come to believe that we are more important than others. This leads to judgment and Yeshua addresses this very plainly when he says “judge not, lest you be judged first.” (I’d like to point out that karma simply means cause and effect.)

So how other people worship and serve what they believe is of little or no consequence in the grand scheme of things. When we pray for others from a place of smug superiority and declare ourselves “right” we are missing the mark by more than a mile.

Value the spiritual community. Because “if you only love those who love you what service is that to you? Even sinners do the same.”
